Detailed Class Descriptions
I will be teaching two new classes this fall at Hot ‘n Cool Yoga in Parksville, BC. On Tuesdays I will be teaching a “cool” yoga class, which I am quite excited about. I will be vibrating the yoga room at specific sound frequencies, which are designed to facilitate the movement of energy through the body. I have been experimenting with this on my own for a while now and I have found that my energy levels have increased dramatically and some aches and pains that I have been living with for several years have all but disappeared. Sound and yoga seem to be made for each other and, in my experience, have a synergistic effect where the two work together better than either one on its own.
The other class will be a sound based meditation class on Sunday mornings. Here again I will be using specific sound frequencies tuned to the various energy centers (chakras) of the body. On a physical level, the frequencies and your intention work together to activate and “tune” the chakras at a healthy vibratory rate. This, in turn, stimulates the nervous and circulatory systems to send the correct amount of blood to the surrounding tissues and organs so that they can repair and cleanse and balance themselves. On an emotional level, suppressed emotions and past trauma stay in the body until they have an opportunity to come out. Sometimes they come out in unhealthy ways such as addictions, insecurities, intimacy and anger issues, chronic pain and even disease. Sound is very effective at giving these emotions a healthy way to release themselves and could potentially leave you feeling like the weight of the world has been lifted off your shoulders….but don’t take my word for it…try it out for yourself!
Quantum physics has proven what the yogis and sages have been saying for centuries…that everything is made of energy. Planets, objects, people, emotions, disease all have specific energy signatures or frequencies and all are constantly interacting with each other. If a person is predominantly surrounded by objects, emotions and people that affect their vibration in a positive manner that person will, most probably, also vibrate within a “healthy vibratory range” and experience good health, abundance and higher levels of consciousness. Conversely, there are many sources of negative energy in the world that can affect our vibratory rates and, if left unchecked, they can lead to feelings of disharmony and even disease. Some sources of negative energy in the world that one should be aware of are: electromagnetic fields from electronics/motors/appliances, radio/cell phone towers, certain foods and food additives like red meat, sugar, MSG and artificial sweeteners, alcohol, people who are always stressed, impatient or angry, anything that induces fear like bullies, television news, newspapers and some television programs and movies, florescent lighting, office environments without fresh air and live plants. There are many more…. especially if you live in a big city so it is vital to consciously manage your energy by seeking out positive energy sources and practices that balance and positively affect your energy.
