Mantras are meant to be used repetitively over a sustained period of time. One is encouraged to fully express the meaning and the emotions of the words and sounds as if the energy was coming from the nearest located chakra.
Pick one that resonates with you and work with it for a while.
Namaste
I am expressing myself more freely in the world these days
All is love
All things come to me in the best way possible
I am the physical personification of the devine (some of these mantras are borrowed from other personifications of us of course….I am sure we won’t mind;)
I am capable; I can do that
Thank you
I AM NOT going to let this guilt control me any longer
I AM NOT going to let this fear control me any longer
I AM NOT going to let myself be controlled like that anymore
Nothing needs to be done
Everything is perfect the way it is
OM
Aloha
HU
I trust myself
I know I can do this
I choose peace
I am the most amazing version of myself.
I am sorry (I debated whether to leave this one in…….I know you can handle it!)
I am changing
I am at peace with what is
I love and trust all aspects of myself
I love you (because of the last one)
I AM NOT going there anymore
That IS NOT who I am
I am allowing my full brightness to shine through
I forgive myself for holding back and not expressing ALL THAT I AM!
I am ready to fully express ALL THAT I AM!
I DID IT!
IT IS DONE!
I AM HERE NOW!
I accept this gift from myself
Now, what would be even better?
First of all I would like to thank you for reading this and exploring this very important subject. Forgiveness could very well be one of the most important ingredients in not only changing the way you see yourself but also the way that you interact and perceive the world around you. Also, in doing this work you will be doing your part in repairing some of the perceived separation in the world between countries, religions and the haves and have nots.
Forgiveness starts with you forgiving yourself and coming into full acceptance of your humanity….especially your shadow or beastly attributes, thoughts and actions. This may be a tough pill to swallow but the fact is that everything that is happening in the world right now is happening because it is in our nature to do these things. It is part of our nature to be destructive and to kill and to hurt others. It is in our nature to have hateful, lustful or jealous thoughts towards others. It is in our nature to be lazy and perverted and apathetic. These are all qualities and capabilities that we harbor inside and then despise and/or deny when they rear their ugly heads in both ourselves and others. We all have memories of situations in our lives that we regret, some seemingly so horrible that we try to lock them away in the basement so that they are never discovered. Some of these thoughts, actions or qualities might be repetitive, as in addictions, and we may even think of these awful attributes as who we are.
Before you run away or dismiss the information above as “not me” you should also be aware of the amazing ability human beings have of denial. Most of us know someone who we feel are “in denial” of unhealthy issues that seem to be pretty clear to everyone else around them. It doesn’t matter how hard you try to help this person, they are not ready to face their issues and continue on their path regardless of what anyone has to say. Well, we are all guilty of this on one level or another.
It takes a lot of courage to open up the door to the dark basement where we have been keeping our deepest darkest secrets so if you are still reading this I want to acknowledge you for this and to offer my support if you are ready to accept it. Here goes:
Exercise:
1) Ask yourself “what are the parts of myself that I don’t like or despise?” Write them down. These can be physical attributes, they can be perceived character flaws, they can be habits or addictions, they can be memories of things that you have done in the past, they can be repetitive thought patterns or stories that we have about where we are in our lives….usually compared to others.
2) One at at time, insert the attribute, memory or story into the blanks below and read the phrases out loud. This can be by yourself or if you want a real intense experience, in front of someone you are close to or the people that are involved with the memories or stories.
I am sorry for _____________________
I am sorry for judging myself for _______________________
I am sorry for hating myself because I_________________________
I am sorry for punishing myself for__________________________
I am sorry for hiding the fact that I __________________________
I am sorry for acting out because ________________________________
I forgive myself for ___________________________
I forgive myself for judging myself for ________________________________
I forgive myself for hating myself for_________________________________
I forgive myself for punishing myself for_______________________________
I forgive myself for hiding the fact that _______________________________
I forgive myself for acting out because I_______________________________
3) This is all part of my unique human experience. This is an accompanying mantra to be used throughout the days and weeks following doing this exercise. Each time you look in the mirror, look deeply into your eyes and recite the mantra with conviction.
Namaste,
Coach Rob
We all get caught in repetitive thought patterns that create stress and anxiety or make us feel powerless from time to time. Here are several exercises that can help you stop the hamster wheel and bring yourself back into the present moment.
1) I am breathing in, I am breathing out. A seemingly simple exercise; if you notice yourself in a funk or worrying about something that is out of your control shift your attention to your breathing and say to yourself silently while you are breathing “I am breathing in (as you are inhaling). I am breathing out (when exhaling)”.Try to keep this up for five minutes or as long as necessary.
Even though this exercise seems like it might be easy it will probably take some practice to keep your mind focused on your breathing and the accompanying mantra. The tendency will be for your mind to want to go back to the previous thought pattern or to skip off to a different one. With a little bit of practice this can be a very effective tool for bringing yourself into the present moment and, thereby, shifting your energy to a calmer state.
Inevitably, when one commits to the path of self realization one will have to overcome their fears. This is one of the quickest and most powerful exercises I have come across. I hope it works as well for you as it has for others.
Instructions: Enter the fear that you would like to overcome in the blank. Recite the entire sequence out loud for each fear. Repeat if necessary.
I acknowledge the presence of the fear of _________________in my life and since it’s task is over, I choose to release it now.
I acknowledge the presence of the fear of _________________in my cellular memory and in my DNA and since its task is over, I choose to release it now.
I acknowledge the presence of the fear of _________________in my emotional body, my mental body, my astral and etheric bodies and all of my other bodies in other dimensions and since its task is over, I choose to release it now.
I acknowledge the presence of the fear of _________________in my father’s lineage and in my mother’s lineage and since its task is over, I choose to release it now.
I acknowledge the presence of the fear of _________________in my community’s collective consciousness and in the collective consciousness of humanity and since its task is over, I choose to release it now.
We are a lot more powerful and creative than we give ourselves credit for. This exercise utilizes the power of the imagination to help us “call forth” our inner wisdom through the use of archetypes.
Part 1
Imagine that you had a “board of advisers” and that your board was comprised of the twelve advisers of your choice. Who would be on your board? There are no limitations on who you chose; they can be anyone from history, they can be animal spirits, comic book heroes, gods and goddesses, angels, yogis, fictional characters, family members or even the Sun and the Earth themselves. Take your time with this, in fact start off by asking yourself “who do I want on my board of advisers?” or “which board member combination would work together for the highest good of everyone involved?”and wait for the board members to “show up” in your life over the coming days and weeks.
Part 2- Questions
The key in getting relevant information is in the formulation of the question. Write the questions that you would like answered down and make them as specific as possible. Don’t be shy. This is your chance to have all of the big ones answered….you know the ones like who am I?, where do we come from?, what is my purpose? etc.
Part 3-Meditation
Once your council is created and your questions are written down you can either call a full council meeting or a smaller meeting with the adviser you feel best qualified to answer your question. Present your question and wait for an answer. This can either be done in a meditation/visualization or by journaling. Answers will sometimes come immediately (did you ask for an immediate answer?) and sometimes not. They can also come in many forms. The answers might come as images, feelings, or from something that you read in a book or see on television. Having a quiet mind and open heart will facilitate this process.
Just like with anything else, this process might take a bit of practice. Also, you may find yourself changing your council members on a regular basis or adding more members or creating your own versions of the exercises above. Regardless, I would just like to acknowledge you for making it this far and for your determination and courage in re-discovering who you are and what you are capable of!
